Pop Art Flowers
Famous artists have moved people around the world through their vision, their style, and their unique abilities. This spring session will study a different pop artist in each class and re-create one of their masterpieces. The class is taught by Kristen Skonieczny who has been teaching art enrichment classes in Madison and Guilford elementary schools and preschools for several years.
Classes will be held virtually; instructions and a class link will be provided in advance. Recommended supplies will be basic and alternative suggestions will be offered (ART KIT NOT PROVIDED). The class will include a lesson about the artist and guided instruction in creating artwork in the artist’s style. In this 4-week session we will study the following pop art masters and recreate their works:

4/28 - Yayoi Kusama, Ready to Blossom in the Morning (1989); 5/5 Andy Warhol, Flowers (1964); 5/12 Roy Lichtenstein, Black Flowers (1961); 5/19 Takashi Murakami, Fresh Blood (2016).

Grades K-4: Wednesday 2:30-3:10PM 4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19

Taught by Mary Amter, experienced teacher and owner of Mary’s Culinary Classes, students will follow along virtually and prepare this special treat for their family and friends! Stove top and oven use is required, so adult supervision at home may be needed during the class depending on age and ability of your child. This is not a no-bake experience!
Classes will be held virtually; a class link and a list of supplies and ingredients needed will be provided. Students must register for each cooking class separately.
